HISTORY

Born out of necessity, CONPEREY Learning Center was established in School Year 1999-2000 in Caticlan, Malay, Aklan. From a rented one storey building with one classroom, one teacher and 32 kindergarten pupils, it transferred to a rented two storey building with three classrooms, and later built extension rooms to accommodate the 195 pupils for its full-pledged pre-elementary and elementary grades with the pioneer class graduated March 31, 2007.

Now in its decade of existence, CONPEREY Learning Center has finally transferred to its permanent in the year 2009. From a rented one storey and two storey building in a lot owned by the major share holders of the school. With the ground floor constructed. it contains seven classrooms, one staff room and a canteen facility. It has eight full-time teachers for its 242 pre-elementary and elementary pupils. Geographically from a seacoast overlooking Boracay with sea transport in view, the school is now situated along national Highway going Kalibo with the different land transport at sight.

HOW CONPEREY GOT ITS NAME?

From the founders' surname - CON for the late Constancio Irao CONstantino, PE for the maiden name of Dr. Concepcion PElayo Constantino and REY for spouses Lilian Remaneses-Rey and Arolf Badana ReY.

`The Run

The first ever Video presentation of the graduating class entitled "The Run". Shot in different places in Caticlan and Union, this video represent the struggle of a student in aiming for excellence. In their journey towards success, they encounter a lot of obstacles and through all these, they never dared to forget to help one another because they believe that they are brothers and sisters who belong in one family.

HELE Activity

One of CLC's aim is to encourage the pupils to be responsible in household chores. One of that is Bangus deboning. So, HELE teacher, Dan, decided to require the children to bring forceps, bangus fish, surgical gloves and apron. This is because he is going to demonstrate and teach how to debone a Bangus.

CLC holds KIDZIBIT 2010


Last February 19, 2010 was a great event for the CONPEREYnian kids when the grade 4-6 pupils put up their artworks dubbed as KIDZIBIT 2010: Unraveling Imaginations.

KIDZIBIT is a project of grades 4-6 in their Art Class and is also one way to gain money for the PTCA project through ticket selling and donations from visitors. The said event convinced the visitors from other schools and places that CONPEREYnian kids are really good not only in Mathematics, Science and English but with art as well. The artworks that was displayed in the two rooms we're considered Best Work during class activities.

The KIDZIBIT features Origami flowers such as lotus and diamond rose. There were Spider's Web made of yarn outside the rooms and Gremlins made of tissue paper and newspaper. Other artwork include a paper mache and Flower vases from their HELE Class.

The children are expecting another exhibit next school year.

CLC shines in English Language Festival


Selected pupils of CLC went to Boracay Island Global Academy to attend the English Language Festival which includes Storytelling, Interpretative Reading, Editorial Writing, News Writing, Poem Writing, Feature Writing, Essay Writing contests, and Spelling.

Students said they were not really prepared for the contest and were trained for a few days only. They were not confident then but their coach Ms. Gee-Ann G. Estember along with other teachers encouraged them not to loose confidence and trust that they can win the contest.

The day has come. February 19, 2010 at the said school, other schools in Boracay and from the mainland municipalities of Aklan battled for championship in the different contests.

Amazingly and surprisingly, they almost got all the awards in the first place. The awards includes the following:

Essay Writing by Kloie Jose - CHAMPION
Editorial Writing by Genevy Dorado - CHAMPION
Spelling by Kym Aia Dimacisil - CHAMPION
Spelling by Clarisse Bandiola - 2nd Runner-up

All winners will be representing the Cluster in the PRISAAP Division in Kalibo this coming February 22, 2010.

Along with other contestant was Janine Andrea Vizmanos who competed in spelling.

CLC reaps laurels again


Twelve Elementary pupils of Conperey Learning Center bagged awards in the recently concluded 2010 METROBANK-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge on February 12, 2010 at Kalibo Pilot Elementary School (KPES) in Kalibo Aklan.
Mrs Lilian R. Rey, Principal of CLC said "It was a great relief and satisfaction to see our children receive awards".
John Rich Barrientos and Lyka Rica Salazar (Grade Six) ranked 1st and now grand slam. They ranked 1st place since grade one and are considered "Unbeatables". They will be representing the province of Aklan to the Regional Finals which will be held in Iloilo City this coming February 26, 2010.
Other contestants were Patricia Kate Castro and Janine Andrea Vizmanos (Grade Five) bagged 2nd place, Marc Jerome Aguirre and Novie Dorado (Grade Four) ranked 1st place, Princess Joy Tindan and Jo-Ashley Baes (Grade Three) ranked 3rd place, Maureen Cosette Parreñas and Gerald Dorado (Grade Two) ranked 4th place and, Richel France Salazar and Angel Skye Rexjelle Alcaraz (Grade One) ranked 3rd place.

Salazar who will battle for the Individuals will also have a tandem with Barrientos to battle for Team Finals in Iloilo City on February 26, 2010 at Iloilo City.

The coaches were Mr. Danilo Parreño and Ms. Liezel Cantallopez.
